I am Serpil Al I was born in 1971 in Istanbul.
After graduating from Anadolu University Faculty of Economics, I studied wood and fabric painting, painting, embroidery, sewing and calligraphy due to my interest in handicrafts.
I have been working as a handicrafts instructor at Sarıyer Public Education Center since 1995. Due to my interest in traditional arts, I met felt at the Turkish Culture Service Foundation and received felt training.
During this period, I worked as a club teacher for secondary school students at Darüşşafaka Educational Institutions. I also worked as a handicraft trainer for special education children in a social responsibility project of Koç University.
I introduced my students to felt in their studies. While making the product they designed, students both work with natural materials and learn teamwork, acquire the habit of using their creativity and gain the ability to produce solutions. In addition, while the student is working with felt, he follows the change in the process between the beginning and the end step by step, and the goal is achieved when the joy of the final is experienced and the child is happy.
